Terms & Conditions

The fine print, kept fine.

Effective May 10, 2026

1. Agreement to terms

By using www.swflyp.com (the “Site”) or attending an event hosted by SWFL Young Professionals (“SWFLYP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or attend our events.

2. Eligibility

The Site is intended for users 18 and older. Some events may have additional age requirements (for example, events held at venues that serve alcohol typically require attendees to be 21 and older). Check the event listing or RSVP page for specific requirements.

3. RSVPs and event attendance

RSVPs are made through our event partner platforms (such as Eventbrite). Free RSVPs do not guarantee admission if a venue reaches capacity. We reserve the right to deny entry or remove anyone whose conduct, in our reasonable judgment, threatens the safety, comfort, or enjoyment of other attendees.

Tickets to paid events (such as quarterly panels) are subject to the refund and transfer policy posted on that event’s ticket page. If not stated otherwise, paid tickets are non-refundable except where required by law.

4. Code of conduct

SWFLYP events are intended to be welcoming, respectful, and professional. We expect every attendee to:

  • Treat other attendees, staff, sponsors, and venue partners with respect.
  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or threatening behavior of any kind.
  • Drink responsibly and follow venue rules.
  • Refrain from disruptive sales pitches or unwanted solicitation.

We may remove attendees who violate this code without refund (where applicable) and revoke future event privileges.

5. Photo and video release

We photograph and video-record our events for marketing and community-building purposes. By attending a SWFLYP event, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual right to use your likeness in photographs, video, and similar media we capture at the event, on our website, in newsletters, on social media, and in sponsor communications. If you do not wish to appear in event media, please let event staff know at check-in and we will do our best to honor that request.

6. Event changes and cancellations

We may change a venue, date, format, or speaker line-up when necessary. We will notify registered attendees through the platform used for RSVP (typically email). If we cancel a paid event outright, paid ticket holders will receive a refund unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.

7. Use of the website

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
  • Submit false, misleading, or other people’s information through our forms.
  • Attempt to interfere with, probe, or disrupt the Site or its underlying systems.
  • Scrape or harvest contact information from the Site.

8. Intellectual property

The SWFLYP name, logo, brand marks, photography, and other content on the Site are the property of SWFL Young Professionals or its licensors. You may not use them without our prior written permission. You retain ownership of any content you submit (messages, inquiries), but grant us a license to use it as needed to respond to you and operate our community.

9. Sponsors and third-party links

Sponsors and partners listed or linked on the Site or featured at our events are independent third parties. We are not responsible for their products, services, communications, or websites. Your interactions with any sponsor are between you and that sponsor.

10. Disclaimer

The Site and our events are provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Site or events, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Attendance at events is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SWFL Young Professionals, its founders, sponsors, staff, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or attendance at our events. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Site or an event is limited to the amount you paid us for that event (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SWFL Young Professionals, its founders, sponsors, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your conduct, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lee or Collier County, Florida.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site or attendance at events after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
